Following studies at Liverpool and Birmingham Universities he taught for five years as Director of Music at Saltley Grammar School in Birmingham.

 

Then for over thirty years Andrew was Head of String Teaching with Sandwell Youth Music and a Senior Manager of the Music Service.

Andrew  retired from his career in music education in July 2007 and has since been busy not only as an accompanist and  performer on piano, harpsichord and organ, but also as a public speaker. He runs a Music Club and organises the "Music in Saint Mary's" concert series in Alveley near Bridgnorth."
